AL BANJER Plastic Factory is expanding the capacity of its recently-established polyethylene terephthalate (PET) strap production facility this year in response to the huge demand for the product.
Al Banjer Plastic is a division of Dammam-based Yousef M Al Dossary and Sons holding group.
According to group industrial manager Mohammed Yousuf Al Dossary, Al Banjer Plastic Factory is the first to manufacture these straps in the region, and began commercial production of this product in October last year with the support of European expertise.
The company aimed to meet the demand in the market which was dominated by substandard imports of these products, according to Al Dossary.
He also points out that the region is well-placed to produce this type of straps. “The Middle Eastern region is rich in polymers, the raw material required for this product,” Al Dossary notes.
“Al Banjer Plastic Factory provides high-quality products that meet high international standards using pure raw materials. We also offer quick delivery and quality assurance, eliminating the need to maintain large stocks. Our engineers and marketing team are also ready to provide the technical support to our clients,” he says.
Al Banjer’s new product met instant success in the market. “About 70 per cent of our production was absorbed by leading factories in the region in very short time, which readily accepted the product. This has encouraged us to expand production of PET straps in the second half of this year,” Al Dossary says.
He says PET straps are more cost-effective than their metal counterparts while being easier to use; and environment-friendly. They have been widely accepted in the region and the world after undergoing rigorous tests on its performance, he adds.
Al Banjer Plastic Factory produces flexible hose used for electrical layouts in buildings, in addition to plastic electrical hose, corrugated pipe, cable ties, vegetable crates. Since its inception 25 years ago, the factory has gained a leadership position in Saudi Arabia and Bahrain in the production of hoses.
Banjer products are manufactured using advanced technology and in a fully computerised operation, according to Al Dossary. “Our well-equipped laboratory for testing raw materials and finished products is managed by qualified engineers.”
Yousef M Al Dossary and Sons holding group has a variety of divisions that in addition to Al Banjer Plastic Factory, include Anjad for Advanced Plastic Industries, Al Sharq Polystyrene Factory and Aldossary Real Estate Development. It is also involved in property management, construction and other activities.
