First of its kind ... the training centre.

The Hilti Regional Office for the Middle East and South Asia, which is based in the Jebel Ali Free Zone, has opened its training centre for the region.

The Dh1 million ($272,000) centre is located at the Dubai Investment Park premises of its UAE representative, Hilti Emirates.
“Liechtenstein-based Hilti has a corporate culture that focuses on people development and building sustainable competence as one of the key drivers of growth in the region,” says regional training manager Rolf Sommer. “The centre hosts indoor and outdoor facilities that simulate jobsite conditions for product and application training targeted at Hilti recruits, as well as customers.”
The groundbreaking training academy is said to be the first of its kind in the Middle East and South Asia where Hilti supplies most of the major projects with innovative construction systems and solutions. “In 2007 alone, 700 people were trained and coached with 35,000 training hours between them, which makes a facility of this calibre a necessity,” Sommer adds.
Hilti’s Jebel Ali regional office was established in 1990. Its network of exclusive partners in the region guarantees full coverage and service to customers, even in remote locations. The regional Hilti team consists of specialist fire-stop engineers, experts to cater to the oil and gas industries, plus civil engineers to assist with general anchoring problems. This expertise, coupled with knowledge on the environmental and physical demands unique to this region, means that they are able to offer precise advice and guidance when using any of the systems and solutions that Hilti has to offer.
