The true performance of a combihammer depends on all the decisive factors being tuned to perfection, says product manager Sergio de Rinaldini at the Hilti Regional Office for the Middle East and South Asia, based in the Jebel Ali Free Zone.
“The TE 70 with ATC, which is the most powerful combihammer in its class, is the recent result of Hilti’s comprehensive design and engineering expertise, that has made the Hilti name legendary.
“Up to now,” he continues, “only Hilti has been able to find the optimum balance between the relevant parameters such as single impact energy (11 J), motor power (1600 W), electronic control, impact frequency, rotational angle between impacts and the drill bits or chisels that form part of the system.”
This new tool’s extremely broad range of applications extends all the way from heavy hammer drilling in diameters from 22 to 150 mm through socket cutting up to 150 mm, drilling pipe penetrations with breach bits up to 80 mm in diameter plus high-torque, rotary-only drilling in wood and steel.
Adds Rinaldini: “With its speed of 360 rpm, combined with Hilti’s superbly efficient hammer drill bits and core bits, the TE 70 achieves a level of performance far beyond the standard for this type of tool. Thanks to its optimised mechanical clutch, this tool powers its way through even the toughest jobs because the operator can take full advantage of its maximum torque whenever required.”
Hilti’s award-winning polygon chisels (red dot design award 2007) transform the TE 70 into a formidable breaker, suitable even for heavier work such as demolition and chiselling, says the company. Nevertheless, with a range of wide-flat, hollow, channel, joint and mortar chisels plus bushing tools at its disposal, this versatile combihammer is equally at home on lighter jobs including surface finishing work.
“Although the combihammer is able to unleash incredible power, the operator benefits from advanced safety features and maximum working comfort at all times. Hilti’s unique ATC system, an ingenious electronic cut-out that stops rotation in a fraction of a second and thus provides additional protection when the drill body starts rotating quickly, is a feature that users everywhere have very quickly learned to appreciate,” says Rinaldini.
“What’s more, advanced ergonomic design and good balance make the tool less tiring to work with. This has been achieved by shifting its centre of gravity closer to the grip and by reducing the working pressure required at the point of contact. Not only convenient and easy to handle due to its well thought-out design, Hilti’s 7-kg combihammer will become a lasting friend of professional users also thanks to its long life expectancy.”
Incorporating durable glass-fibre reinforced casing parts, this ruggedly-built tool is designed to take the rough treatment of hard construction site use in its stride.
