Nakheel says it has completed the handover of all buildings at International City in Dubai.
“All 387 buildings have been handed over to owners and residents across all nine internationally-themed precincts which make up the residential district of International City,” says a spokesman for the developer.
“These buildings comprise more than 22,000 apartments and will be home to over 70,000 residents.”
“With more than 50,000 residents already living there, it is becoming not only a great place to live but a great community,” said Rashid Obaid Al Helli, director, International City said. “We are thrilled to see the hard work that has gone into creating this development pay off. With landscaping well under way and a number of retail offerings now open, International City is an attractive option for a diverse range of people to call home.”
International City began construction in 2003 and comprises the residential district that includes 387 buildings and the central district that comprises 34 plots, which are currently under construction by private developers.
Neighbouring developments include the Dragon Mart complex and the 35-hectare Al Warsan Lake.
The nine internationally themed communities that make up the Residential District of International City are: China, England, France, Greece, Italy, Morocco, Persia and Russia.
International City is expected to be home to more than 70,000 people by the end of this year.
