The iconic Burj Dubai project, which has already attained the crown of the world’s tallest tower, is among the latest high-profile addresses which will sport exclusive bathroom products from German specialist Duravit.
“We will be delivering more than 1,000 Starck 1 barrels and 4,000 WCs and bidets as well as about 1,600 bathtubs and whirlpools in an enviable contract worth millions for the Burj Dubai project,” says Monja Roettele, a spokesperson from Duravit’s headquarters in Hornberg, Germany.
“Conceptualised by well-renowned designer Philippe Starck in 1994 – who was inspired by primitive sanitary products such as a washing bowl, bucket, hand pump and nails – the Stark 1 barrel is a vanity unit and is currently one of our best-selling items of bathroom furniture. We are optimistic that this complete service deal will pave the way for many more landmark projects in the region,” Roettele adds.
Duravit has continued to enhance its standing in the international design arena, by offering aesthetic and functional bathroom designs and continuous innovation. “We offer everything in bathroom design, ranging from jeans to dinner jacket,” says Franz Kook, chairman of Duravit’s management board.
Duravit is an internationally-renowned designer bathroom brand with a product range that includes sanitary ware, bathroom furniture, shower trays, bath-tubs, whirl-pools and well-being systems and accessories, marketed throughout the world.
Today, the company no longer regards itself simply as a think-tank for beautiful design products but increasingly as a supplier of unique bathroom experiences. All of Duravit’s products are manufactured to the highest quality standards at its factories in Germany, France, Egypt and Turkey. The company has, over the past two decades, successfully pursued a focused design strategy and in collaboration with high-profile brand names such as Philippe Starck, Sieger Design and Lord Norman Foster “has developed bathroom and wellness products that stand out not only on the strength of their unusual design but also their good value for money,” Roettele concludes.
