Bahrain-based atOne Software has recently launched software systems from Vico Software, a spin out from Graphisoft.
Vico Software was the construction software division of Graphisoft and has been producing a suite of software systems that have a range of applications in the construction field.
“We were dealing with construction software from Graphisoft earlier,” says Rhiannon Kelso of atOne Software. “The new development only means that Vico Software will now have a new team and its own goals for the region.”
Since the launch in Bahrain in May, the outlook has been very positive for Vico Software. The company has already clinched a few deals in the region to provide total software solutions for complex construction projects in the region and is hopeful that the trend will only get stronger.
“In the two months since its launch as a new entity in the region, we have already received several enquiries from Saudi Arabia, Oman and Kuwait, among others. There are a few projects that are in an advanced stage of negotiation,” says Kelso.
She continues: “The systems from Vico Software provide huge benefits to the construction/contracting/project management industries by offering an all-in-one solution for planning, estimating, project management and project presentation.
“Vico Software’s award-winning Virtual Construction software and services help building owners and general contractors reduce risk, manage cost and shorten project schedules. In addition, the company’s 5D technology provides unprecedented integration of design, construction and management processes, thus improving project predictability; allowing early identification of constructability problems; and synchronising design, cost and schedule. With more than 200 customers and 150 projects completed, Vico Software has a proven track record of delivering results.
The systems from Vico Software, which have been extensively promoted in Bahrain, Kuwait the UAE and Oman, are highly advanced, which means that they cannot be taken out of the box and worked on from day one, says Kelso. “It does take a while for people to get used to the system, which is why we involve ourselves right from the bidding stage of any project. We request all the information that our clients can provide us on the project, and then offer them the line of balance, which is often 99.8 per cent accurate and can assure a cost saving of two to five per cent on any project on the total build cost.”
Apart from systems from Vico Software, atOne also deals with ArchiCAD a 3D modelling solution for architects.
ArchiCAD offers a different approach to workflow process and gives more control over design, while maintaining accuracy and efficiency in documentation.
The system – which has won many awards and is known for “thinking like an architect” – is a product from Graphisoft and offers architects tremendous savings in time, as opposed to when they use more traditional engineering software to try and do a design job, she concludes.
