German Chancellor Gerhard Schroeder has opened a $517 million (390 million-euro) power plant built by Siemens Power Generation to boost Kuwait's electricity generation.
The gas turbine plant, completed over a period of 15 months, has a capacity of around 1,000 MW to increase the emirate's total power production past 10,000 MW.
“The opening of this project is evidence of the cooperation between Germany and Kuwait,” said Schroeder.
“We have a huge potential in the field of energy and there are many other fields for joint cooperation in ports, railways and airports,” he added.
