dmg hopes to replicate Dubai's success at the Icon and III.

Drawn by the vibrancy of the Indian construction and interiors markets, companies from the East and West are joining dmg world media Dubai and its partners IEM at the launch of the combined building, construction, furniture and furnishings trade shows in India: Interiors International India (III) and the India International Construction and Contracting (Icon) exhibitions.

The events will take place concurrently from April 26 to 28 at Noida, New Delhi.
Interspersed with a strong showing by the Indian manufacturers and traders, the interiors event III will feature a contingent of exhibitors from Korea alongside regional consortia and individual companies from Italy, Zarif Mosavar from Iran, the Taiwan Lighting Fixture Export Association, Carpets International from Thailand, Armourcoat from the UK, and Gulf-based companies such as Instep Trading from Dubai.
“III replicates the successful Index Dubai event,” says Kim Willis, project manager for dmg world media Dubai. Over a period of 14 years, Index has become the leading exhibition for the international interior design, furniture, furnishings and shopfitting industry in the Middle East and annually welcomes around 33,000 visitors and 1,300 exhibitors on more than 26,000 sq m of floor space.
Icon, likewise, brings dmg’s leading Middle East building show – the Big 5 – to India. Established in Dubai for 30 years, Big 5 features seven distinct product sectors, and now boasts 25,000 sq m of exhibition space with 1,500 exhibitors from more than 50 countries, and attracts nearly 30,000 professional visitors from throughout the Middle East and beyond.
Icon has already signed up Arabian Aluminium Company, GSPAG Granite Stone Progress and Rubber World Industries from the UAE, as well as national pavilions from Taiwan and Thailand, and individual exhibitors from China. Together with local Indian importers, manufacturers and contractors, they join a group of companies under the auspices of ProBrixia, the Chamber of Commerce of the Brescia region in Italy, including MVT, a manufacturer of tap valves, Pentagono and Leda which specialise in faucets, mixers and bathroom accessories, Fluoril Europa, a leading producer of PTFE (polytetrafluoroethylene) and compound seals, the Aluminium Alliance Group, and Coar aluminium door and window systems.
Positioned as ‘the’ exhibition where international companies can present their building, construction and related products to the Indian market, Icon promises to offer a strong platform for international players keen on entering the Indian construction segment.
Covering the key sectors of construction and building, water technology and environment, air conditioning and refrigeration, cleaning and maintenance, bathrooms, wet-rooms and ceramics, marble products and machinery, and sports facilities and swimming pools, Icon will provide a showcase of the very latest Indian and international products and services, says the spokesman.
“India is a fast-growing economy with great potential for overseas manufacturers,” says Willis. “This is the first year for III and Icon, and we are confident the exhibition will attract a VIP audience of specifiers and buyers for the booming construction industry in the sub-continent. The shows are bound to grow in line with the further expansion of the Indian markets.”
