Mace named for $1.4bn project
Dubai:
Estithmaar Realty, the developer of Jumeirah Beach Residence, has appointed Mace International the turnkey consultant for Dh5.2 billion ($1.4 billion) Jumeirah Beach Residence project along the Jumeirah Mina Seyahi coastline as project manager.

Hashim Al Dabbal, chief executive officer of Estithmaar Realty, signed the agreement with Mace International. A total of six tenders will be foated over the next months, with the first tender covering the construction of six residential high-rise propertiess.
Mace has already involved in surveying and is currently supervising on-site work of the other consultants and contractors who have been awarded the piling work contract for two other sections.
Piling work in the first sectors of the 22.5 million sq ft started in July. The project will be completed by 2005.

$1.08m works complete
Dubai:
The Ministry of Housing and Public Works has completed maintenance work at seven premises in Ras Al Khaimah and Umm Al Quwain. The maintenance cost approximately Dh4 million ($1.08 million). The Arabian Club in Umm Al Quwain was renovated at a cost of Dh1.3 million.
Abdullah Al Qurasi, who heads the branch of the ministry, said the concrete fence of the Maymonah bint Al Hareth Girls School in Ras Al Khaimah was replaced at a cost of Dh354,000.
The Abdullah Salman Mosque in Al Muaireed, and Ateeq Saleh Mosque in Julphar in Ras Al Khaimah were renovated at a cost of Dh368,000. The Al Nahdah Secondary Girls School was renovated at a cost of Dh405,000, the Mugharebat Mosque in Khuzzam at Dh256,000 and the Rashed bin Saeed Mosque in Al Salehia at Dh371,000. All are in Ras Al Khaimah.

Forum to discuss rebuilding Iraq
Dubai:
An executive briefing on rebuilding Iraq will be discussed at Cityscape 2003, the international commercial architecture, property investment and development event to be held in Dubai in October.
The seminar will be organised by the International Institute for Research (IIR) in association with the UAE-based Dewan Architects and Engineers and the UAE's newly formed Iraqi Business Council (IBC).
The forum will bring together pioneering international policymakers and business leaders, property developers, leading architects and construction professionals, and seek to address the challenges faced in restructuring Iraq.
The event will be held on the final day of Cityscape's associated Property Design, Investment and Development Conference taking place at the Grand Hyatt Hotel, from October 18 to 21.
