Leading aluminium systems manufacturer Installux Aluminium completed its first project in Dubai in 1998. Since then, the firm, which is part of the French Installux Group, has seen tremendous growth in the emirate.

Basim Al Saie, general manager of the Bahrain-based Installux Gulf - the regional office of the Installux Group - attributes its success to the increase in quality projects in Dubai.

Installux Gulf secured one of its largest projects last year in Dubai for Emaar Properties' The Greens Project. The project involved supplying Installux Aluminium systems for curtain-walls, sliding and casement windows for a total of 14 buildings. Installation work on the project was carried out by the local Union Industries.

"Installux is proud of its working relationship with Union Industries and the quality of its fabrication and installation," says Al Saie. "Installux Aluminium systems were also used in the Mercato Town Centre in Jumeirah and the National Bank of Abu Dhabi's Deira branch building."

Installux is optimistic about the Dubai market and believes that the next few years will see good growth for quality systems in general.

"Installux sees the Dubai market as the trendsetter in the Middle East for quality and innovation, where it is no longer acceptable to use low-quality untested commercial products for the type of landmark projects coming up in the emirate," Al Saie comments. "Dubai has become a mature construction market, where developers have learned over time that quality adds to the value and attractiveness of any real estate project - and we hope to see this level of maturity in the rest of the Middle East."
