Mitsubishi Heavy Industries has awarded Consolidated Contractors Company the SR524.8 million ($140 million) Rabigh power plant – mechanical erection contract.
The scope of work consists of the erection, testing and pre-commissioning of power and reverse osmosis desalination plant with all the related mechanical, electrical, and instrumentation works.
The IWSP (independent water and steam power) project’s maximum capacities are 600 MW power; 5,000 tonnes per hour of steam, and 7,000 tonnes per day of desalinated water.
The contract is already under way and expected to be completed by the end of February 2008.
