Ardex UK, part of the globally established Ardex Group, has introduced its high performance range of fast track self-levelling smoothing compounds, repair mortars and screeds throughout the Middle East.

Steve Newsome and Colin Ward from Ardex UK recently presented the extensive range of internationally-acclaimed Ardex 'Rapidry Formula' cement systems at seminars and demonstrations in Dubai, UAE.

The two conducted the seminars and hands-on demonstrations at the Al Futtaim Training Centre in conjunction with exclusive Ardex distributor for Dubai, Corrotech.

Many key construction industry decision makers attended the event.

Detailing the range of Ardex products, a company spokesman says: ''For industrial flooring applications Ardit SD-T Industrial Floor System is a cement-based topping for resurfacing and levelling existing concrete floors to give a smooth, flat wearing surface or as a base for suitable paint or resin coatings.

''Ardit SD-T provides the ideal combination of toughness, low maintenance, ease of application and high durability.''

''The Rapidry Formula range,'' he continues, ''also includes a comprehensive range of products to receive floorcoverings in commercial situations.

''There are two self-levelling smoothing compounds, Ardit K15 which can be pumped or hand-applied, and for the ultimate in rapid drying, smoothing compounds, there is Ardit 55 which receives floorcoverings in just 90 minutes.

''Ardurapid 35 is a fast acting cement for floor screeds and Ardurapid 35 Screed Mix has sand pre-blended for convenience in screeding and screed repairs. Both can be used for bonded, unbonded and floating floor screeds.

''For fast track floor repairs there is Feather Finish which is specially formulated for thin repairs and bonds permanently to most surfaces including ceramic tiles without a primer. A skim coat will be ready to take floorcoverings in as little as 15 minutes.

''For thicker repairs, use Ardurapid 45 for internal floors, walls, ceilings and soffits or anywhere there is a need to make good, patch, fill and shape repairs, including nosings to concrete stairs.

''All these products have one thing in common - the Ardex Rapidry Formula, which incorporates unique, completely effective and consistent rapid drying technology.''

''Rapidry Formula products have the ability to totally bind the water used for mixing, which means that rapid hardening and drying is provided, regardless of thickness of the application,'' the spokesman says. ''This technology enables contractors and specifiers to meet the most stringent demands of a working environment where downtime needs to be minimised.''

"Ardex products featuring Rapidry Formula technology are designed to provide the perfect surface, every time, for further work such as floorcoverings or resin coatings - including smooth-dependent finishes such as resilient floorcoverings or water-based systems such as epoxy paint coatings," he adds.
