AT BAUMA this year, Bomag will put the spotlight on a number of innovations and world premieres in each of its business sectors – light equipment, asphalt and soil compaction – as well as on specialist machines. It will also highlight its worldwide reputation as the leader in compaction technology and the specialist for the entire road construction industry.
“Under the watchword City Action, visitors to the Bomag demo areas can gauge the robustness, ergonomics and handling features of the full model line-up in the tamper range plus other Bomag light equipment units – all of them suited for use on inner-city sites,” says a spokesman for the company.

Bomag will launch three new tamper models BVT 65, BT 65 and BT 60, which are designed to meet the toughest site demands and are expected to become its latest standard-setting units to hit the market. The BVT 65 is intended for occasional use and typical applications and requirements; BT 65 for frequent use with the highest demands on compaction; and the BT 60 for constant use in confined spaces and time-intensive work intervals. The popular BT 80 D diesel tamper completes the line-up.
bauma 2013 has also been chosen for the world premiere of the new Series 5 articulated tandem rollers in the six to eight-tonne weight class. The high manoeuvrability, all-round overview, and reduced noise of these lighter tandem rollers make them suitable for small to medium-sized asphalting tasks – even in inner-city areas.

They are also particularly economical. The integrated Ecomode system controls the engine speed in relation to load and on average reduces diesel consumption by over 30 per cent. With the Tier 4/level IIIB engine, which meets current global limits for exhaust emissions, the rollers are well equipped for all future requirements. They are also available with the Asphalt Manager II intelligent compaction system.
The tandem roller will be appreciated for its new design operator’s platform and easy servicing feature. Bomag is also planning the phased introduction of higher weight classes over the next few years.
Another Bomag innovation to make its world premiere at the show is the BF 900 C finisher with its new screed, whose new auger and scraper chain drives allow high volumes of asphalt to be conveyed and spread smoothly and efficiently. With maximum widths up to 13 m, this unit produces impressive paving results.

For greater flexibility, Bomag offers the BF 900 C with the S 300 M (13 m), S 500 or S 600 screeds. With three high-capacity screeds to choose from, the BF 900 C is a flexible and efficient choice for any construction project, says the spokesman.
Also on display will be the BF 300 C finisher with the new S340-2 screed with paving widths of 1.7 m to 5 m; and the BF 223 C, a smaller model for many applications involving paving widths of 0.5 m to 4 m.
The Bomag earthworks division has a number of innovations on offer as well. The highlight is the new generation of single-drum rollers – BW 145 and BW 177 – in the five- to eight-tonne class, which will made their debut at bauma. These highly compact and economical machines combine power with easy handling making them highly suitable for small and medium job sites.
Bomag’s line-up of light equipment that will be unveiled at the show includes the optimised BPR reversible plates featuring a dark-coloured all-round protection hood, which makes it better equipped for the toughest site conditions. The black steel face of the BPR is highly resistant to scratches, damage or impacts, while the hood provides excellent protection against vandalism. Despite the large cover, all maintenance points are easily accessible for regular inspections at any time through the tried-and-tested service flaps; tools are not required.

Bomag is now extending its overall BPR portfolio with the BPR 50/55 D and BPR 60/65 D models. Equipped with powerful Hatz engines and enhanced compaction performance, these bridge the gap between the popular BPR 45/55 D and BPR 55/65 D models with Lombardini engines.
In the special machinery section, Bomag is launching the new soil stabiliser MPH 600 with its unique Flex Mix Technology. The infinitely adjustable rotor allows mix results to be changed and adjusted to local conditions and so makes the MPH 600 the new industry benchmark in terms of efficiency and productivity, says the spokesman.
The machine is designed for global use. Its total height of 3.1 m means it is quickly ready for transport to the next site.
In addition, Bomag is showing the new additive spreader series including the flagship lorry-mounted model BS 160000 Profi with 16 cu m capacity and fully automatic metering control. While the basic spreading system is equipped with one metering feeder, the Profi spreading system has three computer-controlled feeders, which allow the target values to be set and the quantity to be adjusted smoothly from the operator’s seat. Bomag offers three spreader models: attachment spreader with 3.2 cu m; towed spreader with 12 cu m; and mounted spreader with 16 cu m.
Furthermore, Bomag has equipped its Telematic Power fleet management system with new, innovative functions for this year’s bauma. The system automatically transfers the data results on fuel consumption and machine capacity utilisation to the user’s in-company software system to reduce time, effort and costs. It networks all machines online connecting them to a central server.
Bomag can be visited at Stands F 1009 (outdoor area) and F 1008/1 (demonstration grounds) at Bauma.
