METROTILE Europe of Belgium is promoting its stone-coated metal roof tiles that resemble traditional roof tiles for use on various luxury villas and homes taking shape in the region. These tiles offer a host of advantages such as durability, weather and fire resistance, choice of profiles and colours and recyclability.

The company is participating at The Big 5 show in Dubai this month where it hopes to build on its successful participation year after year.

“We have been participating in The Big 5 show for many years now, and every year we achieve good sales and get new distributors,” says Thomas Vandecruys, international sales director.

The company manufactures stone-coated metal roof tiles in a wide variety of shapes and colours, and at The Big 5 it intends to introduce a number of new profiles namely Metrotile Romana, Mistral and Gallo, and its new brand IKOtile for the Asian and Latin American markets.

In addition, it will be promoting its standard product range, including Metrotile Bond, Metrotile Roman, Metrotile Classis, Metrotile Woodshake, Metrotile Shake, Metrotile Shingle, Metrotile Viksen, and Metrotile Shake II.

A Metrotile steel roof exceeds the performance of traditional roofing materials and offers visual appeal, while being virtually indistinguishable from a traditional roof, says a company spokesman. Designed and manufactured to the highest possible standard and quality, the roof is resistant against extreme weather conditions, fire proof and lightweight. It is offered in a wide choice of profiles, finishes and colours to suit the requirements of each type of project.

“The products are regularly tested on coating adhesion, flexibility and coating hardness to ensure they conform to the standard, before being despatched. Product and process improvements are regularly introduced, resulting in an efficient and effective production,” the spokesman adds.

Vandecruys says Metrotile has been registering a steady growth in business over the past 15 years, although in recent years the pace has slackened.

To increase its market share, the company is currently extending its production facilities and warehouse by 9,000 sq m and has introduced its new brand IKOtile for Asia and Latin American markets.

While the prospects for the company and its products remain good, Metrotile Europe recognises the need to appoint additional distribution partners to stay on top of the markets. This is vital for the company as nearly all of its production (99 per cent) is destined for export markets.

Metrotile Europe was established in 1997 in Tongeren, in the Belgian province of Limburg. It employs 60 people and registered a turnover of more than $40 million.
