MODERN Decor and Wood Products Manufacturing (Modecor) has taken its brand of laminates well beyond its domestic market, and is now exporting more than 60 per cent of its annual production to the European market, said Ziad Kossaifi, the company’s general manager.

The Saudi-based firm, which is the first lamination manufacturing facility of its kind in the Middle East and GCC markets, produces a wide range of surfacing materials using state-of-the-art integrated German continuous lamination process used by very few multinational firms in the world. Its products include thermo-fused melamine-faced panels (MDF/chipboard); continuous high-pressure laminates (HPL, CPL), laminate flooring (Parqe), and melamine-edge bands. Modecor products are available in a vast range of modern decors and surface textures that are not available in the market, he adds.

“We are the largest manufacturer of melamine panels, laminates and the sole laminate flooring manufacturer in the Middle East and GCC markets,”said Kossaifi.

The company started production in 2000 at a 70,000-sq-m facility in Jubail Industrial City, and now has sales offices in all the Middle East and GCC countries as well as a subsidiary in Germany to serve the European market.

Stringent quality control is maintained in its production process to ensure that each final product delivered meets the various international standards. “These factors are helping us enhance our penetration of the global markets,” he said.”We endeavour to be a premier supplier of surfacing materials and always hold the highest regard for our staff, the community and the environment.”

“We operate under stringent ISO 9001:2008 quality control standards. Our products are environment-friendly, with the emission rate of formaldehyde being the lowest in the market,” he adds.

Modecor’s products have been extensively used in airports, hotels, hospitals, offices, residential apartments, shops and villas as well as in a number of other prominent projects across the Middle East and GCC markets.

Commenting on the company’s plans for further growth and expansion, he said: “We aim to be a world-class leader of the surfacing industry and a major resource of speciality laminated decorative material to the furniture industry.”
