TENDERS for construction projects in Bahrain dropped by more than 80 per cent in 2011 as compared to the previous year, acording to a newspaper report.
This is forcing contracting companies to sign on to projects at cost price, the Akhbar Al Khaleej reported.
About 30 per cent of contracting companies are without any business at all, the newspaper said quoting sources in the Bahrain Contractors Society.
Many of them are either pulling out of business or are forced to shy away from their commitments, it said.
