Intersec records strong growth

Intersec Middle East, the region’s largest commercial security, fire, safety and police trade fair, organised by Germany-based Epoc Messe Frankfurt, one of the world's top exhibition organisers, is scheduled to be held at the Dubai International Exhibition Centre from January 21 to 23 next year.

The show will incorporate four specialised segments of Commercial Security Middle East, Police and Homeland Security Middle East, Fire Middle East as well as Safety and Health Middle East, enabling visitors to access exhibitors and speakers most relevant to their area of specialist interest.  Reputable organisations including the Dubai Civil Defence and the Institute of Occupational Safety and Health will support the fire and safety segments at Intersec 2007 in Dubai.
The projected growth of the security systems and equipment market within the UAE is estimated to be on an average 25 per cent annually over the next five years.  “This increase is due to a number of factors that include growth in development in and around the region, the inevitable increase in tourism and the increase in international events being staged within the region making Dubai an ideal stage for such an event,” says a spokesman for the organiser.
Of the 11,000 sq m space available, international exhibitors have already confirmed 4,653 sq m, and with around 42.3 per cent of the trade show already booked at this early stage, Messe Frankfurt is delighted with the response so far. Exhibitor numbers are expected to be close to 600, an increase of 36 per cent from the previous show, which will include several international exhibitors from 26 countries including Australia, Bahrain, Canada, France, Germany, India, Korea, Saudi Arabia, Russia, Switzerland and Tunisia.
Running once again alongside the annual Intersec Middle East 2007 exhibition will be an international conference embracing police, fire, and safety and health topics and like the previous years, the organisers are currently planning to secure top-class international and regional speakers who will present a variety of topical papers.
