Bahrain is rapidly becoming one of the Middle East’s exhibition hubs, and the gulfBID the building interior design expo, which debuts this May, will further reinforce the kingdom as a destination of choice for such events, says the event’s organiser.
“Bahrain is now successfully teaming up with Dubai in its bid to become a leading exhibitions and conferences hub for the Middle East,” says Hilal Conferences & Exhibitions Company general manager Abdulla Shafeea, “and gulfBID is an excellent example of this co-operation.”
Scheduled to take place from May 16 to 18 at the Bahrain International Exhibition Center, gulfBID is a joint venture event by Hilal Conference & Exhibitions and the dmg world media.
The exhibition also draws the support of two of Dubai’s best-selling exhibitions – the Big 5 and Index – which are organised every year by dmg world media Dubai, and attract several thousands of exhibitors from around the world, says Shafeea.
Bahrain’s Ministry of Commerce and Industry and the Bahrain Chamber of Commerce and Industry are also extending their support to the event, he adds.
Stands are going fast at gulfBID with as much as 70 of the total space sold to date, three months prior to the event, says Shafeea.
This shows that gulfBID is destined for success, he adds.
The exhibition is being positioned as the Northern Gulf’s main construction and interior design event, and intensive efforts are under way to ensure a comprehensive array products and services, along with an extensive marketing campaign to ensure the right traffic to the events, which will include investors, sales agents, contractors, businessmen, and professionals in engineering, structure, and interior design.
“gulfBID will reinvigorate the construction and interior design business and services industry in the Northern Gulf,” says Shafeea, “and it will provide the best platform for business and knowledge development.”
In the construction sector, the exhibition will showcase a variety of exhibitors featuring building materials, heating and cooling technologies, water technologies and the environment, flooring, cleaning and maintenance, glass and metal, cladding, real estate developments, architectural engineering and much more.
On the interiors side, it will feature interior designing, furniture, fabrics, and wall coverings, lighting, bathrooms and kitchens, arts and accessories, marble and machinery.
gulfBID will cater for the Northern Gulf markets of Bahrain, Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, and Qatar. Furthermore, the exhibition has the potential to service the Iraqi and Iranian markets, says Shafeea.
He continues: “The construction boom in the GCC states is unabated and the region has become one of hottest spots on the international construction map with architects, developers, contractors and material providers from all over the world honing in on the region to gain a slice of this ever-expanding market.
The exhibition will also look at ways on how to help owners personalise their properties through the use of the latest technology and services.
“Bahrain is undergoing major real estate developments along with Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Oman, and Kuwait,” says Shafeea, “and gulfBID will also play a key role in highlighting the latest services which will help personalise these developments – from intelligent building design to the latest mechanical and electrical services (M&E) services and energy-saving techniques, as well as the latest trends and technology in interiors, from ergonomic design and space usage to classy furniture and fittings – and allow owners put a stamp of individuality on them.”
dmg and Al Hilal have previously co-operated in various events such as Big 5 and are keen to develop new projects such as gulfBID as such opportunities emerge, says Shafeea. “gulfBID will be the best exhibitions platform for the Northern Gulf’s construction industy – and an event not to be missed,” he adds.
