Beele Engineering of Aalten, the Netherlands, is launching a new type of sealing plug under the trade name Slipsil.

This new plug is designed to provide fire safe and gas and watertight seals for transits carrying single or multiple plastic or metallic pipes. Typical areas of application of the Slipsil plug are the construction industry, shipbuilding and the offshore sector, the oil refining and petrochemicals industry, and the utilities industry.
The plug has been redesigned to make it even easier to install especially in comparison to other sealing plugs. As a result of this new design, even very narrow tolerances do not affect the plug's ease of installation. Moreover, Slipsil plugs can be exposed to high pressures immediately after installation. In addition, the new plug shape enables a broad sealing range to be covered with a single plug type. This in turn reduces the number of plug variants that are required on site.
The material used in manufacturing the Slipsil sealing plug is the superior rubber grade Nofirno. This newly developed rubber compound is not consumed by fire, does not shrink, and when exposed to flames it forms a protective layer. These distinctive features mean that the rubber grade is traceable at all times.
