Sanitary ware and plumbing specialist Sanipex is now offering its discerning clients steam bathing solutions from Hoesch, a technology and innovation leader which has been setting new standards in steam bathing across the globe for the past two decades.
Its new steam bath, SensaMare 1100 – which has recently been launched by the Gulfwide high-end showroom chain Bagno Design, a subsidiary of Sanipex – has taken steam bathing to an entirely new level of comfort and well-being.
“The system – even in its basic form – is a veritable delight for all the senses,” says Daryl Barker, group managing director of Sanipex.
The SensaMare is a multi-functional oasis of well-being for the home, developed by the renowned German design studio Yellow Design Yellow Circle under the direction of Professor Gunter Horntrich.
“Its design was inspired by a wide range of multicultural relaxation rites. Step into one and you have a combination of crisp freshness of the northern polar region, the pleasures of an oriental hammam, the easing humid warmth of a jungle climate and calming rituals of Zen Buddhism. As the name suggests, SensaMare caters to all the bodily senses,” Barker explains. “Nature or, more accurately, closeness to nature is one of the most important consumer demands on wellness products.
“The ideal combination of heat (approximately 45 deg C) and moisture (100 per cent relative humidity) creates steam consisting of millions of water molecules – which helps in detoxifying, softening up the skin, cleaning pores and loosening muscles, thus creating a harmony between the body, mind and soul.”
“Today, the concepts of wellness and well-being have become closely associated with the bathroom environment. Designers are now tailoring bathrooms not only to meet functional requirements but also to suit the personal relaxation needs of an individual,” he adds.
Aesthetically, the SensaMare is said to embrace simplicity, spaciousness and sensuality. The absence of a rear wall along with the pure glass front devoid of framework, lends the model a decidedly transparent appearance, which enhances the numerous light sources, thus causing the steam bath to glow in effect, Barker says.
He continues: “In addition, the use of aluminium and elegant artificial stone for the fittings adds to the SensaMare’s sleek look. The seats fold away, enhancing the illusion of space and a clever system allows these seats to slide on a bar, allowing two people the option of sitting face-to-face or alongside each other.
“The sensuality of water is emphasised in all its forms though the multiple water and steam sources, which include the ceiling-mounted drench shower-head, three pairs of lateral shower jets, adjustable hand shower and Hoesch’s special ‘Kneipp’ hose. The system also pampers you with the highly beneficial mild radiating warmth of an infra-red system.
“At the touch of a finger, it is possible to introduce aromatherapy scents into the steam bath experience. These can be incorporated within the steam jet or introduced via a separate independent jet.
To complete the experience, SensaMare has an integral sound system with the option of radio or mp3 playback.”
One of the most interesting aspects of the SensaMare is its versatility. Its extensive range of additional features creates an unparalleled spectrum of choice, allowing the specific adaptation of a steam bath to suit an individual’s personal wellness requirements, he points out.
Hoesch has also developed for the SensaMare four readily-combined worlds of wellness packages – “Zen Spirit”, “silent jungle”, “Oriental Magic” and “Nordic Mystery”. Each lasts 20 minutes and is a coordinated interplay between sound, aromas, water, and infrared heat.
Bagno Design also supplies a spectrum of sanitary ware, basins, bathing and showering products, sinks, tiles and plumbing accessories from a full range of known, brand name and European manufacturers.
