Galfar to build prison

The Royal Oman Police has awarded the local Galfar Engineering and Contracting an RO53 million ($136 million) contract to build a prison in Sumail Town in Dakhliya region of the Sultanate.

The scope of work calls for the construction of the prison with a total built-up area of 600,000 sq m, split into three components – a service compound, a community facility and the prison area along with the external works.
Khatib and Alami of Lebanon is the design consultant while Aecom Group of the US is the consultant for the project.
