United Development Company (UDC) has completed a major milestone with the reclamation of more than two million sq m of land for the company’s iconic Pearl-Qatar real estate development.
“Initial land reclamation works began offshore Doha just 15 months ago and the two million sq m mark has been reached on target. The entire Pearl-Qatar island, when fully reclaimed, will cover 400 hectares, or four million sq m,” said UDC chairman Hussain Ibrahim Alfardan.
UDC expects the first residences on The Pearl-Qatar to be ready for occupation by the end of 2006, with full build-out completed by the end of 2009.
