Sharjah-based Notredame Fibreglass and Industrial Marbles Establishment has supplied and installed 1,200 sq m (400 linear metres) of decorative ceilings for the passages and 600 sq m of GRP attic trays to the Al Shoala Complex.
Established six years ago, Notredame manufactures a wide range of fibreglass products. The company has recently started manufacturing GRC products.
The company also deals with artificial marble and manufactures products such as sanitary ware and kitchen worktops.
The company produces fibreglass products such as water tanks - (70,000-gallon-capacity) cylindrical tanks, vertical type (water tanks with insulation and diesel tank); GRP and GRC minaras; passage and passage roof panels; bathtubs, shower trays, washbasins, and decorative items.
Within a short span of time, the company has become a major player in the market having participated in a wide range of prestigious projects in the UAE.
Its major projects include the American University in Sharjah, where it supplied 2,000 GRP car sheds, and Sharjah University also in Sharjah, where it supplied interior and exterior cladding for domes.
The company recently supplied GRP waffle moulds and trough moulds to the new Citibank building currently under construction in Dubai.
"We can produce any kind of GRP items to international standards," says Sultan Rakkad, a managing partner.
Some of its other projects include a 17-storey building for Al Naboodah where the company was involved in the supply of decorative fascia for the roof; the Police Academy stadium in Sharjah where it supplied the roof as well as seating; Emirates Towers (hotel building), for which it supplied GRP cladding for 68 columns, ceiling for the steam room, and trays for bathtubs; and the Metropolitan Palace Hotel and Metropolitan Hotel (renovation), for which it supplied high-quality shower trays.
Notredame Fibreglass, which is approved by Dubai and Sharjah municipalities for the supply of sewerage linings, has supplied to several government projects. The company attributes its success to the high quality of its products.
"Quality is never compromised for price. We use the best raw materials sourced from reputed companies from Europe. A quality test is conducted for all materials and a five-year guarantee is offered on all its products," George Matthai, managing partner says.
"We has been awarded a number of speciality jobs because of the high quality of our products and design," he says. "All products manufactured by the company are custom-designed. We provide our clients with technical specifications, shop design and raw material specifications. With a workforce of 90, we can handle the most demanding of projects."
The company has a 4,320 sq m manufacturing facility in Sharjah Industrial Area and a similar-sized shed in Sajaa Industrial area.
