Middle East Elevators & Escalators Technology Exhibition 2001 will make its debut at the Dubai World Trade Centre in the UAE on February 18.

The four-day event, held under the support and patronage of the UAE Contractors Association and the Society of Engineers, is organised by Mediac Communication and Promotion.

''The tremendous level of interest in this event has become evident with a good number of companies from Europe such as Aottech, Blochar, Festner, Montanario, Monteferro, Motor Lift, Mover, Nuova, Prisma, Sematic, Sideron, Techno, TUV Suddeutschland Ball urd Betrier, becoming part of this premier event,'' says Abdulla Abdulhoul, Mediac's managing director.

''In addition, the local response to the event has been good with companies such as Mitsubishi (ETA Melco Elevator Company), Otis, Kone, Hyundai (Arabian Engineering), Draka Elevator Products (Draka Middle East) and others having registering their participation,'' he adds.

The exhibition will showcase the latest in the elevator and escalator industry which is evolving at a tremendous momentum, thereby creating a need for products, equipment, and technologies that enhance quality and productivity and stay abreast with the constant change and development in the Middle East, especially in Dubai, he points out.

It will showcase innovative equipment, technology and accessories from the elevator and escalator industry and offers outstanding sales and marketing opportunity to local and international specialists in this growing field.

"Most of the major companies in the sector have confirmed their participation, especially some of the world's prominent names in the elevator and escalator field and the show will be a stage for several companies to launch their equipment and technologies," he says.
