Al Ashoury ... supplier to major projects in region.

Al Ashoury Industry, an electromechanical supporting systems manufacturer based in Saudi Arabia, has set its ambitions high this year after a highly satisfactory performance in 2012.

The company is a regional leader in the MEP (mechanical, electrical and plumbing) sector, offering various specialised fabrication and related services, which includes cable trays, ladders, trunking, floor boxes, strut channels, power gantries, telecommunications and power towers and all heavy steel structures.

Buoyed by its success, the company is looking at boosting its capacity as well as diversifying into the contracting sector. “We have already bought new angle line machines, which will be installed at our group company Ash Power by mid-2013. This will increase our capabilities to produce towers and shorten our delivery time,” says a spokesman for the company. “We are also planning to establish our own contracting division to serve our customers better.”

The spokesman says that 2012 was a great year for the company, “since we penetrated all main and big projects in the kingdom, from the King Abdullah Financial District (KAFD) to the Dhurmaa Power Plant and Zain Telecom project”.

He continues: “We always strive for excellence and development and try our best to take part in all big projects. We are already producing towers, up to 90 m high, for projects such as the Zain contract,” says the spokesman.

Al Ashoury has supplied tonnes of products from its facilities to major projects in Saudi Arabia as well as other countries in the region.

Some of its ongoing projects and those in the pipeline include KAFD, Hilton Hotel and Residence, Hail and Al Rukbeh power stations, Jeddah Airport expansion, and Ministry of interior projects.

For the KAFD in Riyadh, it supplied to a number of contractors, including a 128.6-tonne steel structure, which has been mounted on the rooftop of Towers A and B in Parcel 2.07, being carried out by Saudi Constructioneers Establishment; 1,100 tonnes of cable trays, ladders, trunking and accessories to ETA Star Electro Mechanical Company; a 89-tonne steel structure to Permasteelisa Gartner; and 218 tonnes of cable trays, ladders, trunking and accessories to Saudi Binladin Group.

This follows the supply of 325 tonnes of cable trays, ladders, trunking and accessories to El Seif Engineering for the project in 2010.

Other projects to which it has contributed are Dhurma Electric Company’s Riyadh PP11 independent power plant, which called for the supply of 700 tonnes of 380 kV steel gantry structure to Siemens and Hyundai Heavy Industry; a 26-tonne steel structure to ABB Contracting Company for a power factor correction project in Riyadh; and the Saudi Carpet facilities in Riyadh, for which it supplied a 185-tonne steel structure for the machinery plant to the contractor Al Abdullatif Industrial Investment.

Elsewhere in the region, it has also provided a 982-tonne steel structure for the machinery plant to SwissTex Winterthur for Oriental Weavers facility in Ramdan City, Egypt.

Al Ashoury Industry was established over two decades ago as an electromechanical supporting systems manufacturer in Riyadh. Today, it is a highly diversified group of eight companies committed to providing high-quality products and services utilising decades of specialisation, advanced machinery and technical expertise. It has added a modern and huge galvanising facility, enabling it to ensure timely delivery of high quality finished products.

“Our fully integrated facility, our commitment to quality, and our customer service enable us to guarantee that our products will fully meet our clients’ satisfaction,” says Dr Nabil Al Ashoury, president and chairman of the Riyadh-based company.

Three of its subsidiaries include Ashco, a specialist in cable management systems, Ash Power, which offers steel structures, and telecommunications and power towers and Galvatec, which specialises in hot dip galvanising services.
