THE Abu Dhabi Health Services Company (Seha) has selected a renowned global firm to manage the construction of two new community hospitals in the UAE.

In a two-year contract worth Dh17.4 million ($4.8 million), Hill International, a global leader in managing construction risk, will be offering project management services on the Ghayathy and Silaa community hospitals in Abu Dhabi.

Ghayathy Community Hospital is planned as a 50-bed hospital with a total built-up area of 40,000 sq m while Silaa Community Hospital will be a 36-bed hospital with a total built-up area of 26,000 sq m. The two hospitals have a combined estimated project value of approximately Dh784 million ($213 million).

Raouf Ghali, president of Hill’s Project Management Group (International), said the company is honoured to have been selected to help build these important facilities. “Improving and expanding healthcare facilities in Abu Dhabi is a top priority for Seha,” he said.

Seha signed construction contracts with Al-Fara’a General Contracting and Amanah Construction Company for the construction of the hospitals at the end of May.

Hill International, with 3,200 employees in 110 offices worldwide, provides programme management, project management, construction management and construction claims and consulting services. Engineering News-Record magazine recently ranked Hill as the eight largest construction management firm in the US.
