The IG line and gps.perfectscan scanner (below) ... to be showcased this year.

LISEC has developed what it claims to be a ‘world first’ cutting table that has been designed to automatically cut various shapes of laminated safety glass. The product is among a range of innovative ideas and major developments in its entire range of products that the full-range supplier will showcase at this year’s Vitrum 2011, which will be staged this month (October 26 to 29) in Milan, Italy.

The modified Lisec ESL/RS cutting table with linear drive, combined with a laminated glass cutting bridge is capable of automatically cutting shapes of laminated safety glass. The table is based on existing Lisec cutting machines but uses a new concept involving a different cutting wheel with corresponding holder and new software. The cutting wheel, which is not equipped with a separate drive, automatically adjusts to the cutting direction Y in which the cutting head moves. “This new technology makes Lisec the only manufacturer in the world capable of automatically cutting diagonal lines, radiuses and arches of laminated glass,” says a spokesman for the company, which offers comprehensive solutions for the production and refinement of flat glass.

Importantly, existing Lisec machines can be upgraded with the unique technology without considerable effort, he adds.
Also promoted at the show will be a compact insulating glass (IG) line, a flexible sorting system and the gps.perfectscan high-quality scanner for insulating glass.

“This year, Lisec will once again demonstrate its keen sense of the market and its leadership by introducing new equipment and concepts for glass cutting, sorting and storage, insulating glass and laminated glass production, flat glass processing and software solutions,” says the spokesman.

The technically sophisticated, high-quality scanner gps.perfectscan is another major development that will be unveiled at Vitrum. The system is being refined continuously and is now able to, for the first time, check not only single sheets of glass for optical defects, but also laminated or insulating glass units, no matter whether it’s double or triple glazings. “The scanner can detect any visual defects in continuous mode and according to the quality criteria defined by the customer,” he says.

Lisec also offers an “all-in-one” solution for both start-up businesses and SMEs with its redesigned IG production line. This compact IG line consists of a glass washing machine, a frame-mounting station, an automated gas filling press and an automatic edge sealing machine, meeting all needs with one production line. The assembly press is offered either with or without the gas filling function and presses without gas filling can be upgraded with this option any time and without major effort, according to the spokesman.

The compact IG line manufactures double- and triple-glazed units as well as shapes of very high quality and is available in three different designs with two different sizes for each design (3,500 by 2,500 mm and 2,500 by 2,000 mm).
Lisec will also introduce its new sorting system, which combines all advantages of manual and stationary slot racks, allowing flexibility in every situation and easy adaptation of racks for particular production sequences.

Other highlights of the Lisec stand in Hall 13/A19 include a novel edge processing machine designed especially for solar glass, a compact cutting table for float glass and other innovations in the fields of insulating glass and laminated glass production.
