IN a bid to strengthen its presence in the Gulf region, the UK-based aluminium façade design firm Brital has appointed Premier, also known as Al Essa and Haddad Company, as its approved systems fabricator to carry out facade projects in Kuwait.

To launch this new relationship, a joint seminar entitled Façade System Technologies, will be held in Kuwait this month (October 15), says a spokesman for Brital.

Some industry-leading figures have been invited to speak on different aspects of facades and their design at the seminar, which has been endorsed by the Society of Façade Engineering.

The event will benefit all those involved in facades or the building envelope in general, says the spokesman, adding that it will be of particular interest to architects, engineers, specifiers, consultants and designers to increase their knowledge and understanding of issues in current facade design and execution, especially with the ever-more complex designs of forthcoming projects in Kuwait.

Amongst those addressing the seminar will be Stephen Daniels from Hyder, the principal facade consultant for the Burj Khalifa project in Dubai, who will give a presentation on the challenges involved in the facade of the world’s tallest building.

A Fellow of the Society of Facade Engineering, Daniels has more than 20 years of international experience in facade management and consultancy. He has worked on several internationally-renowned projects in the UK, the Middle East and Asia, including as project manager for facades on the Petronas Towers in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia; senior project manager on the Swiss Re Tower in London; and consultant, involved with the facade delivery on the Burj Khalifa project.

Other speakers include Richard Lee, the managing director of Brital Aluminium Façade Designs, Alex Dantziguian, managing director of Technoform Middle East, Dubai; Monesh Aidasani, an architectural adviser/specification manager for Jotun, and a chemical engineer with more than 12 years of experience in the GCC market for powder coatings; and Hassan Hamadeh, vice-president for sales and marketing at Emirates Glass, Dubai, who has over 20 years of experience in the glass industry.

Brital was initially established to design and market aluminium curtain-wall and facade systems in the Gulf region. The UK company has at its disposal some of the most experienced facade designers in Europe.

“Over the past 10 years, the company has grown significantly to the point where the product range available from Brital encompasses all types of facade solutions, ranging from doors and windows through to structurally glazed curtain-wall systems. All systems are available in both thermally-broken and non-thermally-broken versions,” says the spokesman.
These products are specifically designed for the Middle East’s climatic conditions; suit the fabrication and installation practices in the region; and are fabricated and installed only by Brital-approved fabricators.

The company has a huge portfolio of projects it has undertaken throughout the Gulf and wider Middle East region.
