The SC-100 crane with a GH-12 grab.

SOILMEC, a global leader in equipment and rigs for drilling and foundation works, has recently introduced a wide range of new products in a bid to offer a comprehensive line to its customers.

Some of its latest innovations include hydraulic grabs, cranes, rigs and its own computer system and software.

Soilmec’s new SR-30 with controlled hydraulic grab GK-5 completes the line of foundation equipment for the construction of diaphragm walls in congested sites. The hydraulic rotary piling rig boasts high performance and precise verticality.

The special telescopic Kelly bar, composed of four elements, allows an inclination of +/- 45 degrees.

The SR-30 with GK-5, which is transportable completely assembled, can be used on site at arrival without wasting time for assembly.

The machine can be used for the construction of diaphragm of variable widths between 400 and 800 mm and between 2,000 and 2,500 mm and maximum depth of 31 m.

Another novel Soilmec machine is the GH-12 hydraulic grab with a weight of 12.5 tonnes. It can execute diaphragm walls of variable length and width and an excavation depth of 70 m. The grab is equipped with an innovative system for jaw closure that can develop a cutting force of 476 kN (considering a panel length of 2,800 mm).

In the cranes sector, Soilmec has introduced the SC-100, a heavy-duty crawler crane with electro-proportional controls able to offer high precision and simultaneous movements during operation. It has a capacity of 100 tonnes with a working radius of about 3.8 m.

Soilmec has also widened and completed its microdrilling range and now offers rigs dedicated to confined spaces. With the newly-designed SM-3 and SM-5 microdrilling rigs, the company has the capability of meeting diverse ground engineering requirements with machines ranging from 3 to 32 tonnes weight. Despite its compact dimensions, the SM-5, powered by a 72 kW diesel engine, can be supplied with a large range of rotary heads having torque values up to 972 daNm for high drilling capacity.

To complement its rigs, Soilmec offers the standard basic DMS, a stand-alone computer mounted on the rig board. Consisting of sensors on the rig and connected with hydraulic pumps and diesel electronic box, it displays real time data to the operator.

Soilmec, established in 1969 and part of the Trevi Group, is today a worldwide leader in the design, production and sale/marketing of equipment and rigs for drilling and foundation works.
