KIRBY Building Systems is upbeat about business prospects in Qatar, where it has enjoyed success in the past, and expects to win further projects particularly in the industrial, and oil and gas sectors.

Currently, Qatar is in the midst of a massive spending spree, financing the construction of a new airport, skyscrapers, roads and stadium as well as continuing to invest heavily in power and water capacity and the hydrocarbon sectors.

“As the global leader in pre-engineered steel buildings (PEB) and steel structures, we look forward to expanding our presence in Qatar and exploring the additional project opportunities presented by the Fifa World Cup 2022 development plans,” says a spokesman for Kirby, which has a sales office in Qatar.

Kirby is also boosting awareness among its customers about its ability to design, manufacture, transport and erect pre-engineered buildings and steel structures, while promoting new product solutions such as open web joists and curved built-up members.

The Kuwait-headquartered company, which has been in operation since 1976, maintains a sound reputation for providing cost-effective solutions for buildings that are manufactured to the highest standards, the spokesman says. It caters to the requirements of various applications, such as factories, warehouses, schools and colleges, healthcare facilities, car-parks, offices, showrooms, and workshops, among others.

With state-of-the-art manufacturing facilities in Kuwait, the UAE, India and Vietnam that have a combined capacity of 425,000 tonnes, Kirby can manufacture and deliver a large number of customised steel buildings every year, meeting project deadlines and surpassing the required quality levels. It has one of the largest steel building capacities in the world, the spokesman points out.

The company has a network of more than 70 offices in the Middle East, Europe, Africa, the Indian subcontinent and South East Asia, to service customers globally. Its manufacturing facilities produce hundreds of custom-made steel buildings each year, having catered to more than 50,000 projects worldwide.
