AKWAAN  Properties’ Bilda Building and Design City was awarded ‘Project of the Year 2009’ at the Kingdom Excellence Awards, which were held alongside the Kingdom Project Expansion and Investment Summit in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, last month.

The summit and awards were organised by Naseaba, a business information company. The awards felicitated excellence, innovation in the region’s transport and infrastructure as well as hospitality and real estate landscape.

Located near Riyadh’s industrial area, the 84,000-sq-m centre will be home to companies specialised in sanitary ware, lighting, flooring, paints, aluminium, stone and marble, building materials, plumbing, carpentry, kitchens and furniture, besides home designers, construction consultants and logistics providers.

The one-stop building shop is scheduled to open in the first quarter of next year.
