Three ongoing projects of Abu Dhabi National Oil Company (Adnoc) subsidiary Zakum Development Company (Zadco) are to be ready for commissioning in March 2001.
They are the effluent water disposal project, effluent de-gassing and de-oiling tanks project and oil dehydration facilities project. All are progressing ahead of schedule with Zadco implementing them on a fast-track basis, according to a company project update.
The effluent water disposal project involves setting up a pumping station with two pumping sets initially and two more in the future, a sea pipeline of 4.7 km and a disposal well platform located about 4.5 km from Zirku Island.
The effluent de-gassing and de-oiling tanks project entails installation of two tanks of 25,000 barrels per day (bpd) next to the pumping station for effluent water disposal. There is provision for one more tank in the future. The project also entails a low-pressure gas recovery system to recover gas from the tanks and connecting the recovered gas to an inlet of a gas compressor unit.
The oil dehydration facilities project entails installation of three free-water knock-out drums with internals and provision for more in the future.
