Dubai Cargo Village (DCV) is currently expanding its cargo handling facilities at a cost of Dh85 million ($23.16 million). The first phase, being implemented by Naboodah-Link, involves expansion of facilities at Emirates SkyCargo to increase handling capacity from the current 450,000 tonnes to 800,000 tonnes. In the second phase, 10 parking bays for cargo aircraft are to be built at Dubai International Airport, taking their number to 14.

The project, scheduled for completion by the first quarter in 2001, is being designed to provide 'requisite' facilities for the Airbus A3XX freighter, according to a top DCV official.
