AN INTERNATIONAL consortium including OHL and Contrack is working on a $2.3 billion construction contract for the Sidra Medical and Research Centre, the architecture of which combines cutting-edge technology with an incandescent design that both reflects and celebrates the sky.

Scheduled to open in November 2011 at Education City, the project is moving progressively forward with work under way on the construction of the facility and the detailed planning for the clinical services and research to be conducted. Meanwhile, work is ongoing on a host of educational facilities at Education City. Georgetown University broke ground for its building at the city last year while the School of Foreign Service expects to move into its purpose-built 400,000-sq-ft facility in fall 2010.
