Abu Dhabi National Exhibitions Company (Adnec) has revealed the concept for a proposed new Dh3.5 billion ($1 billion) business and residential microcity to be built around a state-of-the-art convention centre, hotel and cultural centre in Al Ain.
Designed by an international team of master-planners, architects and engineers the city will strive to create a desirable destination that is based on the successful Capital Centre business development model.
The development, which has entered its masterplanning stage, was displayed at last month’s Cityscape.
Strategically-located clusters are earmarked for the mixed-use development of hotels, residential and commercial low-rise towers, in a fully integrated development around the new convention centre/hotel and cultural centre.
Slated to be a first-of-its-kind development in the emirate, the project will focus on creating a vibrant business and lifestyle destination for residents and visitors alike. At the heart of this project will be a Dh387 million ($105 million) state-of-the-art conference centre and hotel, work on which is scheduled to begin later this year.
