Innovative solutions ... profiles from Welser.

Welser Profile is keenly eyeing the buoyant Gulf markets with a view to providing its innovative steel and stainless steel profile solutions made for some of the most demanding applications in the construction industry.

The European company, which has production sites in Austria and Germany, is a leading manufacturer of bespoke special sections, tubes, components and complete profile systems made of steel, stainless steel and non-ferrous metals for all sectors of the industry.
Among the most important industry sectors it caters to is construction, where it covers everything from preliminary building works (formwork/concrete shuttering, scaffolding, among others) to interior design (office furniture, lights, technology, partition walls), as well as the air-conditioning, automotive industry and the electrical industry sectors.
The company's profiles and tube sections have been used worldwide, indicating the operational reliability of the products and its sophisticated manufacturing technology. The superior material and surface quality of its steel products make them suitable to meet the requirements of high stress and extreme weather conditions, especially in Middle East countries, says a spokesman for the company
“Welser sections have a variety of purposes – be it for scaffolding or construction of industrial buildings – as they meet the requirements of high static loads and professional application. Sections made with steel and stainless steel have a high load-bearing capacity, are durable and impact resistant and can be used for all purposes. These advantages are good reasons to favour steel over aluminium, be it for technical or aesthetic reasons,” says a company spokesman.
'Stainless steel is one of the best materials for building design, and is relied upon by architects and design engineers in the construction business. It is hard to imagine building façades, door and window systems, facings in interior and exterior work, moving stairways, elevators and handrails without the use of stainless steel. This apart, stainless steel demonstrates its strong points in the vast field of mounting and fastening technology, even though it is rarely visible,' he adds.
As a family-run business with a long-standing tradition, Welser has been adding shape to steel since 1664. It develops innovative solutions for profiles and opens up the widest range of application-orientated possibilities in close cooperation with the customer. As a result, it implements an average of five new solutions per day while its highly-effective production facility has an output of more than 130 million m of sections a year, the spokesman says.
'More than 50 state-of-the-art profiling machines add shape to the material characteristics of steel and further facilitate the processing of strips of high tensile and surface-refined steel, with 0.3 to 8 mm material thickness and strip widths up to 800 mm,' the spokesman says.
Welser meets individual customer requirements with respect to material quality, shape, surface quality, further processing and logistics utilising the most technically-efficient machinery and competent employees in every production centre and sales office, he adds.
The company manufactures products for various sectors such as automation, transport, equipment industry, mechanical, utility and industrial engineering, construction and interior designing and other general fields. The company's products can be found almost everywhere – in air-conditioning technology, furniture, airplanes and ships, in drawers, elevators, moving stairways and high-bay warehouses, in dust extraction plants or as wall elements in industrial buildings. Cold-rolled formed steel made by Welser can be found as assembly runners, cable ducts, in switch cabinets and even on oil rigs.
Welser presently employs more than 1,550 employees at its production sites in Austria (in Ybbsitz and Gresten) and Germany (Bönen) and in its 11 international sales offices.
