Bahrain-based Technal Middle East reports that it has tripled its market share and presence in Qatar over the past year.
It was a year during which it also recorded an ‘outstanding’ sales performance in all its key GCC markets.
“2006 has been a year of great achievements, as Technal Middle East has witnessed substantial growth, with Technal systems gaining an excellent market share and being specified for landmark projects in all the GCC markets,” says Hesham Kameshki, marketing and sales manager of the company.
“We have supplied our aluminium products to prestigious landmarks in Qatar such as Al Ferdous Residential Complex, La Cigale Hotel, Al Manaa Twin Towers, housing units at Education City, offices and showroom of Ali bin Ali, in addition to a number of palaces, villas and showrooms. This has been possible thanks to the support of our approved aluminium fabricators, who are our dedicated local partners,” he adds.
The La Cigale Hotel, on which Aluminium Gulf Ray was the aluminium and glazing contractor, used the featuring Technal MX Horizontal line façade and the Technal FXi, PXi and GXi thermal-insulated windows and doors systems; while on the Al Manaa Twin Tower project, which had Specialized Aluminium and Steel Company (Sasco) as the aluminium and glazing contractor, Technal’s MX classic façade and FB pivot and top hung windows were installed. For the Al Ferdous Residential complex and the Ali bin Ali office and showroom (both with Sasco as the aluminium and glazing contractor), Technal supplied its Mecano SSG façade.
“As with all the markets in the GCC, the Qatari market holds an important position in Technal Middle East’s business plan. To service such markets, we have allocated and established the necessary resources required to cater for the demands for the best standards, quality and services,” he says.
Technal Middle East has also launched an innovative product range in a bid to meet market demands. The company, which specialises in aluminium framing systems such as façades, curtain walls, skylights, doors, windows, guard-rails, conservatories, shop fronts, modern partitions, thermal-insulated windows, doors and façades, bullet proof doors and sliders, among other products, has recently made a technological breakthrough through successfully testing its hi-tech sliding door GT Plus lift-and-slide series for water-tightness at 750 Pa – the first sliding door worldwide to be tested for water-tightness at such high pressures, claims Kameshki (see Doors and Gates feature).
Apart from the door, Technal has also enhanced its portfolio of engineered products with glass wall cladding systems, frameless aluminium balustrades, unitised façade applications, proprietary and custom-designed sunshade applications, which have been used for prestigious projects in the region.
“New products have been on top of our agenda and these include the new steel-look, hi-tech aluminium balustrade system BY Series (Gypse) that will be launched in the Gulf markets during the course of this year,” says Kameshki.
Technal Middle East, which started off as a small business unit in Bahrain in 1980, has been focusing on meeting a range of architectural and technological challenges in the field of architectural aluminium applications in the Gulf. To explore the potential of the region, the Bahrain headquartered-operation has diversified into a fully-integrated company with comprehensive regional services, including offices, a central distribution warehouse, a contemporary showroom backed by a full-fledged customer-oriented marketing, engineering and logistics team. The company also has representative sales offices in Saudi Arabia and the UAE to cater to all the GCC and export markets in the other Middle East countries.
The firm aims to meet the growing demands of the region, with a wide network of 31 authorised aluminium fabricators – four in Kuwait, five in Bahrain, four in Qatar, eight in the UAE and 10 in Saudi Arabia – supported technically and logistically from its Bahrain head office. The network in each country is carefully appraised to ensure that the company is well positioned to secure the best market share. In the other Middle East markets, the company operates through its licensees in Syria, Jordan, Egypt and a distributor in Yemen.
“We believe that the services offered by Technal Middle East as the regional provider of Technal systems, covering marketing, engineering and logistics support, a wide range of contemporary quality products, a dedicated aluminium fabricators network, and the support of our valued end-users such as architects, consultants, specifiers, main contractors and decision makers are the key elements behind our growing success in the region,” concludes Kameshki.
