An ambitious $30 million twin tower project – dubbed the West Gate Towers and expected to come up opposite Bahrain's capital city's bus stand – was launched by real Kuwaiti real estate developer Mubarak Abdul Aziz Al Hassawi.
Work on the project, expected to commence in four months, will have 48 offices, 50 apartments and two penthouses once completed in 18 months.
The two towers – North and South – featuring high-tech facilities in an energy-efficient setting, are linked at the lower floors and upper floors.
The North Tower is designed for residential usage with high-end apartments offering exclusive facilities for tenants that will include a health and fitness club located on the 18th floor.
The South Tower will accommodate the office floors. The tower will also include an exclusive business centre on the 18th floor equipped with conference and meeting facilities, an executive dining hall and lounge seating providing secretarial and business assistance services.
The ground, mezzanine and first floor have been designed for retail occupation with comprehensive facilities providing lifts and escalators.
The first floor will also serve as an inter-link across Sheikh Khalifa Avenue between the northern and the southern sections of the mall.
The towers will have a 284-slot car park facility. Consultancy services are provided by Mimar Architecture and Engineering.
