
Residential blocks for doctors and nurses of the Hamad Hospital in Qatar are to be constructed at a cost of QR528.6 million ($145 million) at the Hamad Medical City, which is to be completed by the end of next year.
The Minister for Municipal Affairs and Agriculture and chairman of the Public Works and Urban Planning Authority, Sultan bin Hassan Al Dhabit Al Dousari has contracted the conpletion of the complex to a local company. The residential blocks will be built as two enclaves on 16,000 sq m of land. The doctors' enclave will consist of 23 blocks. Each will have four storeys and consist of eight to 16 residential apartments. There will be a total of 216 apartments in this section.
The ground floor of each block will be reserved for parking of vehicles and other amenities. The nurses' enclave will consist of nine blocks of varying dimensions. Each block will have eight to nine storeys. This section will have a total of 646 units and will accommodate a total of 2,584 nurses.
