Mammut Building Systems, the largest manufacturer of pre-engineered steel buildings (PEBs) in the UAE, has introduced a series of measures that will help the firm to increase its market share in Abu Dhabi.

The company has substantially strengthened its presence in Abu Dhabi and has recently hired Joseph Chidiac as area sales manager.
“Chidiac’s extensive experience in the PEB segment is expected to give the company an edge in the market. Before joining Mammut, Chidiac was customer service manager at Emirates Building Systems in Dubai,” says Muayyad Khudairi, vice president of Mammut’s PEB division.
Chidiac joins Mammut’s team in Abu Dhabi which also includes two design/estimating engineers, one after-sales support engineer, one erection coordinator and a secretary. 
“All jobs located in Abu Dhabi emirate are sold on the basis of supply and erection,” says Khudairi. “This has made Mammut the preferred supplier of PEBs among contractors who always like to deal directly with the manufacturers rather than through agents or builders of PEB manufacturers. Mammut is also the only PEB manufacturer, which undertakes the erection of its buildings in the UAE.”
Says Khudairi: “Mammut now enjoys a 65 per cent share of the market for PEBs in the UAE. We can attribute Mammut’s meteoric rise in recent years to the company’s obsession with recruiting the best people in the PEB industry in this region, and also for its commitment to supply the highest-quality components in its PEBs.
He explains: “At Mammut, we are determined to be the best in the PEB industry in every respect. Our engineering software is by far the best in the industry in the Gulf and we are the only manufacturer in this region that can truthfully declare that our buildings are totally free of engineering errors as we use sophisticated self-checking detailing software that produces perfectly correct shop drawings.
“We also have the largest and most automated PEB factory in the Middle East and we produce more polyurethane injected sandwich panels than all other GCC-based PEB manufacturers combined. These advantages, plus our high production capacity and product diversity, has enabled us to offer the best prices in the UAE.
“Our cycle time for submission of quotations, submission of approval drawings, dispatch of material from factory, erection of our buildings, response to queries, etc is, without question, the fastest in the PEB industry. There really is no reason today for any contractor in the UAE to shop for PEBs elsewhere.”
