Emaar awards contracts

Dubai-based Emaar Properties has awarded several contracts to local companies for the construction of residential towers, individual villa units and peripheral infrastructure at all its major projects.

A statement from the developer valued the primary and secondary contracts at Dh3.042 billion ($828 million).

"These are substantial contracts and we expect them to be completed within tight time-frames for each of our projects," said executive director Issam Galadari. Emaar Properties has eight major real estate projects under development - Arabian Ranches, Dubai Marina, Emirates Hills, The Lakes, The Meadows, The Springs, The Greens and Emaar Towers. The companies awarded contracts to build high-rise apartment towers and infrastructure works include: Dubai Civil Engineering and Arab Technical Construction Company, Al Futtaim Tarmac, Bin Laden and Wade Adams (The Meadows); Engineering Contracting Company, Fujairah National Construction Company, Ginco Contracting Establishment, Al Hudaiba Contracting, Ahmed Bin Dasmal Contracting Company, Al Oroba Contracting Company, Al Futtaim Tarmac and Wade Adams (The Springs); United Engineering Construction, Al Shafar General Contracting Company, Al Shafar Transport & Contracting Company and Al Futtaim Tarmac (The Greens); Al-Basti & Muktha, Al Futtaim Tarmac and Port Saeed (The Arabian Ranches) and Dubai Civil Engineering (Dubai Marina).
