Oman’s Ministry of Heritage and Tourism has signed an agreement with Sorouh Al Qurm Real Estate Company for the development of an integrated tourism complex (ITC) in the Wilayat of Bausher, Muscat Governorate, at a total investment of RO230 million ($596 million), reported ONA.
Spanning over a 165,000-sq-m area in Al Qurm area, the new complex will boast two four-star hotels with a total capacity of more than 400 rooms in addition to integrated recreational facilities such as an indoor games hall and trampoline facilities, it stated.
A prime property in the Omani capital, the project will feature commercial outlets as well as freehold residential units among other facilities.
The entire project will be implemented in phases extending over 15 years, it added.
In another development, Omran Group, the executive arm of Oman’s tourism development, has invited bids from multidisciplinary engineering consultancy firms to provide masterplanning, detailed design and construction supervision services for the development of Wadi Shab as an adventure destination.
Spanning over 1.5 sq km in the Wilayat of Sur, Wadi Al Shab is known for its turquoise pools and dramatic canyon landscapes.
Omran aims to develop the landmark into a family-friendly eco-adventure destination with a focus on soft mobility, immersive activities, and sustainable lodging.
The project aims to enhance the visitor experience while ensuring safety, operational efficiency, environmental sustainability, structural integrity, and flood resilience, said the Omani group in its tender notification.
