France's Technip-Coflexip has been awarded a lumpsum turnkey contract by Saudi Aramco for the design and construction of a sulphur plant at the Riyadh refinery.

Under the terms of this contract, Technip-Coflexip will provide two new 70 tonnes per day (tpd) sulphur recovery units, sulphur tankage and truck loading facilities, a new sour water stripper unit and a new amine-treating unit.

The contract is worth $100 million and the project is expected to be completed by April 2004.

Construction will be handled by Technip Saudi Arabia.

Its services include project management, detailed engineering, procurement, construction management, construction, pre-commissioning and assistance to commissioning.
