The Jeddah authorities have signed contracts for six projects in the Jeddah governorate worth a total of SR514.44 million ($137 million).
The contracts were signed by Dr Mohammed bin Ibrahim Al Jarallah, Minister of Municipal and Rural Affairs with a number of Saudi companies and include:
A five-year contract worth SR421 million for cleaning services in Greater Jeddah area. The project - which covers an area of 350 sq km - will begin in August;
A deal worth SR35.15 million for the maintenance and irrigation of green areas in northern Jeddah;
The SR29.92 million deal for the maintenance of parks and green areas in central Jeddah;
A SR13.87 million contract for the repair of roads damaged by groundwater;
A SR9.32 million agreement for asphalting, paving and lighting of villages; and
Maintenance of several sites in Abraq Al-Raghama area at a cost of SR4.48 million.
Al-Jarallah also signed a SR20.1 million contract to link some of the villages on the road leading to Makkah from Taif.
