Super 1300-5e is Vögele’s first fully-electric compact class paver.

Joseph Vögele, a leading manufacturer of road pavers, has unveiled a new line of fully-electric pavers, targeting the growing demand for low-noise and zero-emission construction equipment in urban environments.

The new offerings include the Super 1300-5e, the company's first fully-electric compact paver, and the Mini 500e and Mini 502e battery-powered mini pavers. These machines are designed to address the increasing environmental and noise regulations impacting infrastructure projects worldwide.

The push for environmental compatibility and carbon neutrality in construction has made electrified equipment increasingly vital. Vögele's expanded E-Power Segment aims to meet these challenges by offering machines with zero operating emissions and significantly reduced noise levels for the road construction sector.

All three new low-noise models feature a battery-electric drive concept and an electrically heated extending screed, making them suitable for work in sensitive urban areas, enclosed spaces, or regions with strict noise abatement regulations.

Super 1300-5e

The Super 1300-5e is Vögele’s first fully-electric compact class paver and the inaugural electric paver of the “Dash 5” generation. When paired with the AB 340 extending screed, it can achieve pave widths ranging from 1.8 m to 4.2 m, making it suitable for small- to medium-sized road construction projects.

The paver is equipped with a liquid-cooled Li-ion battery from Kreisel Electric, boasting a storage capacity of 126 kWh. Operating in the 400V high-voltage range, the battery is designed to provide sufficient power reserves for a full workday, depending on the paving method. Vögele states that the Super 1300-5e delivers comparable drive and paving performance to its conventional counterparts.

As a “Dash 5” paver, it also incorporates enhanced operating comfort, automated functions, and quicker set-up times compared to its “Dash 3” predecessor. New technologies include the ErgoPlus 5 operating concept, advanced assistance and automatic control systems, additional comfort features, and an upgraded lighting system.

Mini Pavers

Vögele's Mini 500e and Mini 502e mini class pavers offer two battery options. The standard 15 kWh battery provides enough power for a full workday, while an optional 22 kWh battery can extend operating times to up to two days without recharging. Both battery options operate in the 48V low-voltage range.

When combined with the electrically heated AB 135 Extending Screed, these mini pavers can achieve pave widths from 0.25 m to 1.8 m, allowing for precise work on even the smallest paving jobs.

Convenient charging, standardised technology

Charging the new electric pavers is designed to be straightforward. The mini pavers can be charged via a standard household socket or a wallbox, with charging times ranging from five to seven hours depending on the battery version.

The Super 1300-5e connects to a wallbox or charging station, taking approximately five hours to fully charge with a 22 kW capacity. Rapid charging stations can reduce this to just one hour.

Vögele emphasises the synergy benefits from shared battery and drive technologies across all compact e-machines from the Wirtgen Group,  including streamlinedcharging procedures, maintenance, service, and the availability of spare parts.
