Following a strong market performance last year, UD Trucks MEENA has continued to reinforce the presence of the leading trucks brand in the region through a series of events that included new product launches.
UD Trucks Meena participated in the fifth Truck and Fleet Middle East Conference held in Dubai in early March, where industry leaders and experts convened to discuss the latest trends, challenges, and innovations in the transportation sector.
UD Trucks GCC Sales Director Wahaj Malik actively engaged in panel discussions, contributing to two key topics – “The Big Picture” and “Sharing the Load” – where discussions delved into the current market dynamics, technological advancements, regulatory challenges such as load restrictions and emissions, as well as funding and fleet acquisition challenges faced by the transportation sector in the Middle East.
Malik commented that, through its participation in the event, UD Trucks was able to bolster its brand awareness in the region and emphasise on how UD Trucks is contributing to its motto, ‘Better Life’ for the region.
At the event, UD Trucks Uptime and Service Sales Director Kris Meuleman gave an insightful presentation titled “Bridging the Gap: Technology and Accessibility in Commercial Vehicle Operations.” The presentation emphasised the crucial role of digitalisation and connectivity in enhancing commercial vehicle operations, reflecting UD Trucks’ commitment to leveraging technology for improved efficiency and performance.
“Technology is not just transforming the commercial transport industry, it’s also reshaping the very essence of it. As we embrace innovative solutions like autonomous vehicles and telematics, it’s crucial that we keep an eye out for safety and sustainability, while being on the active lookout for the human element. The conference enabled industry experts to gather, share and reflect on the needs of today’s society,” said Meuleman.
In addition to enriching discussions and presentations, UD Trucks showcased its cutting-edge products at the conference. Two of its flagship models, the Quester GWE 460 6x4T and the Croner LKE 240 equipped with Allison Transmission, were exhibited. Product Manager Masaki Tatsumi, provided attendees with an engaging walkaround session, offering insights into the features and capabilities of robust and efficient transportation solutions.
Meanwhile, the UD Trucks Meena team held a series of impactful events in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, to celebrate the company’s strong performance last year. These also include the launch of the Euro 5 truck series in the kingdom.
To ensure a dynamic and engaging experience for participants, the Euro 5 series launch focused on highlighting UD Trucks’ commitment to maximum uptime through reliable trucks and exceptional after-sales support; provided an in-depth exploration of the Euro 5 series features and benefits to attendees; and offered an opportunity to experience the power and performance of the Euro 5 series firsthand through test drives.
The UD Trucks Meena team also concluded its “Driver Guard” programme, a comprehensive three-day training initiative held in Bahrain. Focused on enhancing driver competency and safety, the programme equipped 44 participants with valuable theoretical and practical knowledge focused on proper daily vehicle checks to minimise wear and tear and optimise truck efficiency.
“The ‘Driver Guard’ programme serves as a testament to our dedication to driver development. By equipping our drivers with the necessary skills and knowledge, we empower them to operate their vehicles safely, efficiently, and confidently,” Meuleman concluded.
