AL MUHAIDIB Contracting Company, an operating unit of A K Al Muhaidib and Sons Group of Companies, has been awarded two contracts valued at SR660 million ($176 million) by the National Water Company (NWC) of Saudi Arabia.

Al Muhaidib will be working in a joint venture with Vinci Construction UK on the design and construction of the Briman Strategic Water Reservoir and the Al Khumra pumping station in Jeddah.

The water reservoir is a two-year contract with the first year dedicated to the construction of the 1.5 million cu m facility and second to provide operation and maintenance services. The pumping station has a similar contract, with the first year devoted to procurement and construction of the station and the second focused on operation and maintenance of the facility.

These contracts are part of a $5.3 billion (SR20 billion) initiative taken by the NWC to develop and improve water and wastewater services in the country.
