CAPITAL Safety, the world’s leading designer and manufacturer of height safety and fall protection equipment, has introduced the new Protecta Rebel range of self-retracting lifelines (SRLs) to the Middle East.
Rebel cable models, which replace the well-known Protecta JRG SRL, are available in lengths ranging from 6 m to 30 m. There are three different housing sizes – 6 and 10 m; 15 m; 20, 25, and 30 m cable length.
The Rebel range sports a number of innovative features. The handle is now available from the smallest model, allowing a customer-friendly handling of the SRL and enabling the user to carry and connect the SRL with less effort.
Each model is available in two types of housing – lightweight thermoplastic or heavy-duty aluminium, allowing the user to choose the version that will suit its application.
Rebel SRL meets CE sharp-edge standards and can be used horizontally with an extension sling. Some dedicated models of the Rebel SRL are designed to meet the last updated CE sharp-edge standard requirements and can then be used at horizontal.
“These new main features, added to others like double-swivel and stackable housing, make this block set the standard in terms of technical features and quality for a Protecta SRL,” says a spokesman for the UK-based Capital Safety.
Each model of the Rebel SRL has a fall indicator karabiner, which allows competent personnel to perform yearly inspection visually without having to send the SRL back to a service centre for opening and inspection.
“The fall indicator karabiner, combined with detailed inspection following user instructions enables competent personnel to easily perform the annual inspection and identify if the block needs to be repaired. The Rebel SRLs have 30 per cent less moving parts than many competitive SRLs. It simplifies maintenance and makes service cost efficient,” he adds.
The new Rebel SRL range can be used on several different applications, however, it is especially dedicated to the construction and industrial markets. The applications include steel erection, roofing, and general construction, maintenance.
Capital Safety, which has 20 operating sites worldwide, is home of the DBI-Sala and Protecta brands. DBI-Sala and Protecta have invested decades in the science of fall protection to ensure that workers are safe and employers have confidence they are providing their employees with the best protection possible, the spokesman says.
All of Capital Safety’s fall protection and rescue systems are backed by training, technical assistance and customer service.
