Thrislington Engineering Company, founded in 1946, is said to be the longest established relocatable steel partition and doorset manufacturer in the UK. From small beginnings, the company has grown over the years and is today considered the largest and most specialised internal metal partition producer in the UK and has offices in the US and associated manufacturing plant in the Middle East.
The UAE-based Thrislington Gulf (a division of Eldiar Industries) was established three years ago to manufacture for its clients in the Middle East. The Abu Dhabi-based 5,000 sq m production plant is fully equipped with the latest CAD/NC facilities and houses its own epoxy polyester powder coating paint line. As a regional, self-contained unit it operates efficiently to meet market demands while reducing delivery time for its cost effective products.
Thrislington Gulf has produced steel partitions and doorsets since its conception and has been involved with many projects throughout the Middle East. Some of its major projects include the Emirates Telecommunications Corporation (Etisalat) headquarters in Abu Dhabi, the Abu Dhabi National Oil Company (Adnoc) and Abu Dhabi Company for Onshore Oil Operations (Adco) head offices in Abu Dhabi, Emirates Towers in Dubai, Kuwait's Air Base, the Kuwait University, Amipharma Laboratory in Sudan and Halliburton's offices in Azerbaijan.
Thrislington Gulf products are manufactured entirely in Abu Dhabi. "The strategic location of our facility, at the head of Arabian Gulf, enables quickest deliveries and technical support throughout the Middle East market," says Philip Wilkes, group general manager. He continues: "The partitioning and metal doorsets have been developed for this market incorporating the latest manufacturing techniques to make them lightweight yet very durable. The product is suitable for use in blockwork and partition walls and can be fixed into the building during construction or as a retrofit item. The product has been extensively tested both in laboratory conditions and on specific projects to ensure long life and reliability in operation."
The doorsets are specifically tailored to the requirements of the Middle East market and special attention has been given to the use of galvanised steel throughout. Insulated core constructions, rot-proof infils and additional dust seals are some of the other features.
Manufactured from high-quality raw materials, the product is available in different configurations to suit different requirements. In addition to single leaf and double leaf, frames with removable overpanels, borrowed light and glazing can be introduced.
Thrislington Gulf's product range covers monobolic partitioning systems, clean room environments commercial door, fire door, secure door, acoustic door and metal door frames. The company says it is committed to customer service and its specialised team combining sales, architectural and technical expertise provide consulting services to architects, contractors and building owners and managers, helping ensure the best product selection.
