DRAKE and Scull International Abu Dhabi, a subsidiary of DSI, has established Campco Properties in partnership with Buhairan Limited Company.
The main activities of Campco Properties will include building, servicing and maintaining accommodation facilities for DSI workers. The company was established as a result of the rising demand to accommodate the increasing number of workers at DSI in recent years.
Ahmed Al Nasser, area general manager, said: “The continuous development and geographical growth of DSI, in addition to consecutive project wins, has created the need for extensive recruitment. DSI currently employs 15,000 employees across the region.”
He added that the company recognised the significance and the positive impact of maintaining a unified workforce and, therefore, believed that Campco will play a major role in achieving this goal.
“We also expect that Campco’s services will eventually be made available to other companies in the UAE,” Nasser said. DSI is a regional market leader delivering world class quality projects in the Middle East and North Africa through integrated design, engineering and construction disciplines of mechanical, electrical and plumbing (MEP), civil contracting, and water, power and infrastructure, through innovation, people and passion.
DSI’s expansion efforts this year included the establishment of two new business subsidiaries – Drake and Scull Water and Power (DSWP), which was established to manage and control all existing and new water power and infrastructure projects across the Mena region; and Drake and Scull Construction (DSC), established to manage and control the regional civil contracting expansion in addition to the existing operations in Dubai and Abu Dhabi.
In April this year, DSI announced the acquisition of Drake and Scull International Qatar (DSQ), a reputable MEP company based in Qatar, which further fuelled the company’s horizontal expansion plans allowing it to diversify into new markets and increase its market share in the region.
